Project Background
3S Engineering embarked on a crucial project aimed at enhancing ground movement monitoring for a client’s operational
pipelines in Lampung and Palembang. The primary objective was to install and procure inclinometers, ensuring the client could effectively monitor potential landslide-prone areas.
Methodology and Approach
The project involved the installation of inclinometer casings at three locations, each with a depth of 8 meters, utilizing HMA casings (imported) and RST Instrument inclinometers (USA). The RST Instrument inclinometers were chosen for their renowned quality and high precision in measuring ground movements.
Adherence to Standard and Quality
with SNI standards was a cornerstone of the project, ensuring that all materials and installation methods were capable of
long-term performance. The high accuracy of the RST Instrument inclinometers further reinforced the project’s commitment to quality and precision.
Challenges
One of the significant challenges faced during the project was accessing the installation sites due to remote locations and poor road conditions. Overcoming this obstacle was crucial to maintaining the project timeline and ensuring the successful completion of the installations.
Outcome
The project successfully completed the installation of inclinometers within the specified timeframe, with no delays. The handover of the inclinometer equipment to the respective pipeline station managers in Lampung and Palembang was accompanied by demonstrations and training on usage.
Outcome
This project showcased 3S Engineering’s expertise and reliability in the field of geotechnical engineering, particularly in the installation and instrumentation of measurement tools. The successful completion of this project underscores the company’s capability to deliver high-standard installations and equipment for critical infrastructure monitoring.
